Meet Robin

“One of my greatest joys is understanding people.”

Robin, Licensed Professional Counselor in Glendale, Arizona

Not much of our therapy will revolve around me. But if you’re curious about who I am, here’s a little glimpse.

Long before I became a therapist, I was a student of people.

As far back as I can remember, I found myself paying attention to the little things others often missed. I noticed the confidence of a childhood friend, the tension between neighbors, what made people laugh, why people argued, and the unspoken dynamics in a room. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was learning about people long before I ever became a therapist.

Looking back, I think that’s why I’ve always loved hearing people’s stories. Every person has a unique story that shapes the way they experience the world, and I’ve always believed there’s more beneath the surface than what we first see.

That curiosity eventually became a career, but it started simply with genuinely enjoying people.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent 22 years working with youth — first managing a group home for teenagers and teen moms in the foster care system, then serving as a youth pastor for junior high and high school students. Those years taught me that every behavior has a story and every person deserves to be understood with compassion rather than judgment. Eventually, I returned to school to become a licensed professional counselor so I could continue helping people heal in a different way.

My own experience with therapy also shaped the therapist I am today.

Like many people, I’ve experienced seasons of pain that led me to seek counseling myself. That experience reinforced something I believe deeply: if I’m going to sit across from someone in their most vulnerable moments, I needed to have done the work myself and be committed to my own growth and healing as well. Therapy isn’t just something I do — it’s something I value personally. I understand how much courage it takes to begin, and it’s a privilege to walk alongside people in that process.

Outside the therapy office, my favorite job is being Mom.

My three teenagers keep life interesting (and humble). When I’m not working, I’m usually outside somewhere — hiking, chasing an Arizona sunset, or finding any excuse to get near the ocean. I’m always up for a good card game, traveling, or laughing with friends. I’m also a lifelong soccer fan and somehow managed to attend both FIFA World Cups hosted in the United States, once as a high school senior in 1994 and again with my son in 2026. My all-time favorite show is The Office. I could quote it all day, so if you’re a fan too, there’s a pretty good chance one will sneak into conversation at some point.

Life has taught me that healing and laughter aren’t opposites. Sometimes they show up in the very same conversation.

Curious whether we’d be a good fit?

The best way to find out is a short conversation. The consultation is complimentary, and there’s no pressure either way.
